Sjwaampop is an annual, two-day, free pop festival, which has been taking place on the market of Swalmen since 1983. The festival has lasted two days since 2012 and attracts several thousand visitors a day. In previous years we welcomed De Staat, Di-Rect, Anneke van Giersbergen, La Fuente, Douwe Bob, Wulf, Navarone, Johan Gielen, Wild Romance, Miss Montreal, Chef Special, DeWolff, Memphis Maniacs and Vato Gonzales. Since 1990, Pinkpop has been in the Great Guinness Book Of Records as the oldest continuously organized pop festival. The first edition took place on May 18,1970 in Geleen. After seventeen editions at that location, the festival moved to Baarlo once, after which it settled permanently at the Megaland event site in Landgraaf from 1988. In 2019, Pinkpop celebrated its 50th anniversary there.

Solar Weekend is one of the most creative festivals in the country. Every year, eight hundred creatives and artists contribute to the festival. GLOW is a free to visit light art festival in the public space of Eindhoven with about 35 light artists from home and abroad. The light art projects are connected to each other via a walking route. In addition to major international light artists, GLOW makes room for innovative and unique home-grown projects.
It is an apotheosis of one, sometimes two or more years of collaboration, experimentation and perfection. Each edition has a theme that is given to the light artists, to incorporate into their light artwork entirely according to their own and free interpretation.

Twice a week, a fairytale parade (Landal Christmas Parade) passes through the old streets of the town during Christmas Town Valkenburg. The historic centre forms a spectacular backdrop for the light procession with richly decorated floats and groups of dancers in beautiful costumes.
On a Christmas song composed especially for Christmas City, it is almost impossible to stand still while watching. The lights, dancers, floats and the catchy music make the Landal Christmas Parade one of the big crowd pullers of Christmas City Valkenburg every year.

Commemoration of war victims at the Limburg Resistance Monument at the Zwartbroekplein in Roermond (19:30). Prior to this ceremony, the Roermond orchestra 'De Symphonie' will provide a memorial concert in the Minderbroederskerk. This concert starts at 18:30.

Tens of thousands of visitors from all over the region and far beyond visit the Sint Joepmarkt in Sittard every year. An annual fair where the men and women of the market sell a colorful collection of products. The market has been a popular market for more than 200 years. The first Sint Joepmarkt was held on March 19, 1803. The mayor of Sittard received permission from Napoleon Bonaparte for this market, which was a cattle market until the end of the 19th century.
The Sint Joepmarkt is not only the first annual market of the year, but also the largest in the Netherlands. More than five kilometers of stalls string together through the historic city center of Sittard. Many of the market vendors advertise their merchandise in an original way. Something that makes this market a very popular event for many visitors!
