If your kids are a little older, you can simply leave them at the brand-new MRT Pool near the Maasplassen lakes. The long slide, large pool, and whirlpool will keep them entertained for hours on end! Should your kids be a little younger, then you can keep an eye on them from the comforts of your lazy beach chair. Get yourself comfy while reading the Vogue or Sports Illustrated as the little tater tots splash around in the special kiddie pool. Of course, you are also more than welcome to take a refreshing jump into the large MRT Pool as well.
Our very own MRT Beach on the Maasplassen in Limburg is the ideal place for a fun-fueled summers’ day with the kids. Can you imagine? Your start off together by renting a SUP board and discovering the Maasplassen. You might even decide to take a picnic with you! Afterward, when you are craving some me-time, you simply send the kids off to go swim, E-Foil, and play volleyball while you enjoy a cool drink on one of our lazy beach chairs. The MRT Beach offers the perfect opportunity to draw your own plan whilst still enjoying time with your loved ones.
Grant yourself a day of shopping in Roermond, golfing in Hunsel, terrace hopping in Maastricht, or cruising the Maasplassen on a sloop with your partner during your summer holiday. And, as a cherry on top, once you come back from your day off of parenting, you will probably receive a beautifully crafted macaroni artwork from your kid to take home with you from Limburg!
Parc Maasresidence Thorn’s centrally located bowling alley will keep the entire family entertained for hours on end. Reserve an alley in advance and challenge your kids to a fun game. There are special gates and bowling ball slides to give the kids a shot at winning. If you do inevitably end up wiping the floor with those little guys, you can always cheer them up with some delicious soft-serve ice cream from Humphrey’s Café & Take Away. Better yet, you can also have it brought to the bowling alley!
During your summer holidays in Limburg, you can cycle in almost every direction from our resort on the Maasplassen and end up on a charming bike route. Our recommendation? Gather the rambunctious offspring, rent a bike (with a children’s seat), tandem, or e-bike, and go south. Follow “De Mooie Maasroute” into Belgium and at some point, you will bump into a picturesque little bike ferry. Cross the river and then follow the Meuse back up towards the resort, past charming little villages, old mills, and grazing cattle. Afterward, both you and your kids deserve a treat. Go for pancakes at De Pannenkoekenbakker in Thorn!
